Our Story
Summit Harbor Hospitality was founded in 2008 when our founder, Mehmet Yilmaz, completed the restoration of his family's historic Ottoman estate in Istanbul's Sultanahmet district. Determined to share the traditions of Turkish hospitality with travelers from around the world, he embarked on an ambitious journey of growth and preservation.
What started as a single 78-room boutique hotel has grown into Turkey's premier collection of independent luxury properties—fourteen distinctive hotels offering 882 rooms across seven regions. From Byzantine Istanbul to the surreal landscapes of Cappadocia, the turquoise Aegean and Mediterranean coasts, the mist-shrouded Black Sea mountains to the ancient Mesopotamian plains of Mardin, our portfolio spans the full breadth of Turkish heritage.
Today, the Yilmaz family continues this mission alongside a team of over 1,200 dedicated professionals who share our passion for misafirperverlik—the Turkish concept of generous hospitality that treats every guest as family. Each property remains independently operated, free from international brand constraints, allowing us to deliver truly authentic experiences rooted in local culture and tradition.
